A protein with known antibody activity, synthesized by lymphocytes and plasma cells, and found in serum and other body fluids and tissues. There are five distinct classes: IgA, IgD, IgE, IgG and IgM. Secretory IgA is a type of IgA immunoglobulin where two IgA molecules are linked by a polypeptide and a J chain; it is the predominant immunoglobulin.
