Amyloid Deposit

Definition of Amyloid Deposit from the PharmacyDictionary.in

Amyloid Deposit

Amyloid Deposits refer to insoluble aggregates of proteinaceous debris that accumulate extracellularly. These deposits are commonly found in the brains of patients with Alzheimer’s disease. The primary component of these deposits is a misfolded form of a protein known as amyloid-beta, which clumps together to form plaques. These plaques interfere with neuronal communication, leading to the cognitive decline observed in Alzheimer’s disease.
