Tobramycin is a strong antibiotic made by a soil bacterium called Streptomyces tenebrarius. It kills a wide range of bacteria and is used to treat serious infections like blood poisoning (septicemia) and infections in newborns (neonatal sepsis), as well as infections in the brain, lungs, stomach, skin, bones, and muscles.
