Ackerman Tumor

“Ackerman Tumor”, also known as Verrucous Carcinoma, is an uncommon, low-grade, well-differentiated variant of squamous cell carcinoma. This type of neoplasm typically involves the oral cavity, larynx, genitalia, skin, and esophagus. It’s characterized by well-differentiated epithelial cells which lack cytological atypia, but display a blunt papillary/pebbly surface and keratin-filled crypts extending deep into the connective tissue. It’s important to note that while this tumor can grow large in size, resulting in the destruction of adjacent tissue such as bone and cartilage, it’s considered highly treatable.
