Analgesics, Narcotic

Narcotic Analgesics are a class of drugs that are used to relieve pain. They work by binding to opioid receptors in the brain, blocking the perception of pain. Examples of narcotic analgesics include Morphine and Pentazocine.

While these drugs are effective in managing pain, they can also cause physical and psychological dependence. This means that over time, a person may need to take larger doses to achieve the same effect (tolerance), and they may experience withdrawal symptoms if they stop taking the drug (dependence).

Due to these risks, narcotic analgesics should be used under the supervision of a healthcare professional, and only for as long as necessary.
